This high-performance Fast Ethernet switch provides eight 10/100 Mbps switched ports and a 1,000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet fiber port. The switched 10/100 Mbps ports are ideal for segmenting networks into small, connected subnetworks for superior performance, enabling the most demanding multimedia and imaging applications over the network. 8 switched 10/100 Mbps ports
Each port provides dedicated 10 or 100 Mbps (megabits per second) bandwidth for connecting one of more PCs, servers, and hubs. In full-duplex mode, each port supports up to 200 Mbps of throughput. If an individual subnetwork is upgraded from 10 to 100 Mbps, the corresponding port on the FS509 network ports will change to the higher speed automatically.
Gigabit fiber uplink, cable included

Easy, plug-and-play installation
Once powered on, the unit starts to operate with no configuration required. The sturdy, 13-inch metal case can be placed on a tabletop or be mounted on a wall or in a standard 19” rack.

The 10 and 100 Mbps Link LEDs are built into the vista RJ-45 ports, providing clear network status.
Automatic speed and full/half-duplex sensing
The switch supports n-way auto negotiation, and each 10/100 Mbps port automatically senses and operates at the proper speed and duplex mode, taking the burden of configuration off the user. Alternatively, an individual port can be locked in full-duplex mode when desired. The Gigabit fiber port always operates in full-duplex mode.
